Therefore, an ESG Manager must have detailed knowledge of applicable legal regulations such as CSRD, ESRS, CBAM, TCFD or GRI. In addition, a person with the competence of an ESG Manager must have knowledge and experience in the field of green transformation, so that the Management Board is able to assess climate goals, in particular KPI’s, related to the reduction of company’s carbon footprint and related operational costs. In addition, an ESG Manager must know how to prepare and manage ESG risks, prepare and implement ESG Strategy, and is responsible for overseeing the preparation of ESG reports.
ESG Business Analyst
The role of the ESG Business Analyst is primarily to prepare data and other inputs related to the calculation of a company’s carbon footprint, so that the ESG Report can be fully prepared for future regulations. The key responsibilities are mapping and analyzing processes, calculating the carbon footprint, both partial –for projects or departments – but also overall, i.e. at the level of Departments, Company’s and/or Holdings. An ESG Business Analyst should also know how to manage, model and prepare data. In addition, in ESG projects, he often fulfills both Agile BA and PM duties. He is also responsible for communicating business requirements to IT teams so that ESG implementation is possible. The role of an ESG analyst is a link between the world of ESG, Business, and IT. It’s a very important role that requires analytical, communications, and project management skills and reports directly to management.
